My baby girl is ONE and there is so much to celebrate! A year has flown by in the blink of an eye and now here we are at such a momentous milestone in little E’s life, one which she surely will not remember and I will never forget. This is my first child’s first birthday so let’s be honest, it was more of a joint party really, half in honor of the past 365 days of her life and the other half as a congratulatory pat on the back to my husband and I for surviving.
Anyone who knows me can attest to the fact that I love a good theme party and this particular theme was inspired by my favorite childhood book, Madeline. A brave little girl with an adventurous spirit, the beautiful “City of Light” as her playground and that fabulous, yellow hat! What’s not to love? First and foremost, I must confess I have a huge crush on all things French: film, cooking, pastries, music, fashion, accents, bull dogs, children’s literature…the list goes on and on. Confession number two; I am a planner. Truth be told, the wheels were already turning way back when we found out we were having a girl! Pulling together and fine tuning all the details that made this party special was such fun and totally DIY friendly if you’re up for a project or two.
Some of my favorite details were the darling monsieur and madame bibs (handmade by my ridiculously crafty mother), the Paris cityscape mural, which made a fabulous backdrop for guest photos (more props to mom), the balloon wreath (which took about six hours worth of baby E’s naps for me to complete) and of course, the ensemble (accessorized with red, glitter shoes and the cutest smile ever), worn by ma petite cherie.
Joyeux Anniversaire Eisley!
